Question about french press Coffee Makers: the coffee left in the french press is still brewing?

let’s say you make a few four cups of coffee in a french press. I dispense a few cups, and have some left in the french press. If the coffee just sits there, it will continue to “steep” and get stronger..So your second cup of joe will be super duper strong.

Should you dispense all of it so it all has a consistent taste? Thanks for answering.
