How to customize a Coffee mug?

I want to make a customized coffee mug for a gift. I have no clue how to! I want the mug to be normal; one, solid colour, a handle, and NOTHING on it. I want to put 1-3 pictures on it without paying for someone else to do it for me. Please tell me what materials i need and how to do it.
I want to customize it myself!

You can not put pictures on it unless you pay large amounts of cash for the equipment.
There-fore cheaper to get a company to do the job unless your going to start a business
