What’s the difference between a Cappuccino Machine and an espresso machine?

I have no idea what I’m looking at when I Google search (images) either machine. Many look the same…many totally different.

Is and espresso machine just a glorified Coffee maker that grinds it’s own beans and has a steamer?

Espresso is a kind of coffee made with water under pressure, cappuccino is made with espresso & milk.

Almost all espresso machines have a steaming wand (some better than others), and may be advertised as cappuccino machine as well. It may taste good, but it’s not the same as real cappuccino.

As to the grinding beans: there are ‘full automatic’ models that grind, pack, and brew with the press of a button; ’semi-automatics’ that create the pressure, but require you to do the rest (better in my opinion); and ‘manuals’ that you create the pressure by pulling a lever (hard to be consistent).
