Where can I buy caffeinated water in NYC?
Coffee doesn’t agree with my stomach. Colas and sodas are rotting my teeth. I don’t have the time to brew tea. I remember something I bought in a deli in college — bottled water with caffeine. Is that available anywhere in NYC? I’d rather not have to have it mail-ordered.
Many supermarkets now carry it. Try Shop Rite or Wegmans.

Mail Order $71.7 Mail order is a term which describes the buying of goods or services by mail delivery. The buyer places an order for the desired products with the merchant through some remote method such as through a telephone call or web site. Then, the products are delivered to the customer. The products are typically delivered directly to an address supplied by the customer, such as a home address, but occasionally the orders are delivered to a nearby retail location for the customer to pick up. Some merchants also allow the goods to be shipped directly to a third party consumer, which is an effective way to send a gift to an outoftown recipient. A mailorder catalog is a publication containing a list of general merchandise from a company. Companies who publish and operate mailorder catalogs are referred to as catalogers within the industry. Catalogers buy or manufacture goods then market those goods to prospects (prospective customers). Many catalogers, just as with most retailers, are increasingly buying goods from China. Catalogers rent names from list brokers or cooperative databases. Mail Order Retailing in Britain $125 Since its inception in the late 19th century, Britain's mail order industry both exploited and generated social networks in building its businesses. The common foundation of the sector was the agency system; Sales were made through catalogues held by agents, ordinary people in families, neighbourhoods, pubs, clubs and workplaces. Through this agency system mail order firms in Britain were able to tap social networks both to build a customer base, but also to obtain vital informationon creditworthiness. In this, the first comprehensive history of the British mail order industry, the authors combine business and social history to fully explain the features and workings of this industry. They show how British general mail order industry firms such as Kay and Co., Empire Stores, Littlewoods, and Grattan grew from a range of businesses as diverse as watch sales or football pools. A range of business innovations and strategies were developed throughout the twentieth century, including technologicaldevelopment and labour process rationalisation. Indeed, the sector was in the vanguard of many aspects of change from supply chain logistics to computerization. The social and gender profile of the home shopper also changed markedly as the industry developed. These changes are charted, from themale-dominated origins of the industry to the growing influence of women both within the firm and, more importantly, as the centre of the mail order market. The book also draws parallels and contrasts with the much more widely studied mail order industry of the United States. The final section of the book examines the rise of internet shopping and the new challenges and opportunities it provided for the mail order industry. Here the story is one of continuity and fracture as the established mail order companies struggle to adjust to a business environment which they had partly created, but which also rested on a new range of core competencies and technological and demographic change. |

Mail Order Bride $13.76 Rated: NRSynopsis: The West is a mighty perilous place. A man needs a good horse, a trusty shootin’-iron and steady nerve. And one more thing, according to aging cowpoke Will Lane (Buddy Ebsen): a bride. Director Burt Kennedy lassos plenty of laughs as well as action in Mail Order Bride, much as he’d do later in the memorable comic westerns Support Your Local Sheriff and Support Your Local Gunfighter. Thestory follows Lane as he plays dad to his dead friend’s rowdy son Lee (Keir Dullea). Via a mail-order catalogue, he finds the young man a widow (Lois Nettleton) with a little boy. Lee prefers raising hell to raising a family. But a whirlwind of Wild West action may force Lee to grow up – and appreciate the gentle heart of his new bride. |

A&P: The Story of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company (Images of America Series) $21.99 In 1859, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, known everywhere as A&P, began as a mail-order business located at 31 Vesey Street in downtown Manhattan. In 1925, A&P operated more than thirteen thousand grocery stores nationwide, with more than forty thousand employees. By 1950, approximately ten cents out of every dollar spent on food in the United States passed over A&P counters. A&P: The Story of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company tells the story of how cofounder George Huntington Hartford and his sons John and George brought A&P to a popularity with consumers that few companies have ever achieved. This stunning collection of vintage photographs shows such nostalgic scenes as the elegant early stores, their gleaming window displays, and the red horse-drawn delivery wagons with the A&P logo emblazoned on their sides. Shoppers choose from rows of colorful merchandise and fresh produce; uniformed storekeepers make change from ornate registers; and the founder’s son tastes A&P’s Eight O’Clock coffee. A&P is still an industry leader, and A&P: The Story of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company shows why, from the Hartford family’s legacy to the generations of shoppers who depend on A&P for fair prices and quality food. This is the history of the supermarket where America grew up shopping. |
