artsy , relocate town.?

I want to relocate to an artsy type town sort of like soho but without all of the holier than thou attitudes. I already live in Nyc , the place i relocate to must be affordable , Artsy (as in have a lot of arts shows , hype local music scene , many artists and photographers and nice little Coffee shops) I am a musician so id like to be somewhere where there are opportunites like NYC. please let me know and give me a detailed answer thanx.

Why not look into Minneapolis/St. Paul they are known for thier artist, local musicians, and theaters. There are some great art districts in minneapolis and they have some well known art museums like the Walker and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts among other small gallerys and shows. Obviously the twin cities are quite a bit smaller than NYC but there is a place for everyone there. If you want to see what kinds of things are going on check out city pages, they list all the events going on in any given weekend, everying from which band is playing where, to what show is playing at the Guthrie, to which art galleys are having shows, and where the summer art fairs are for that weekend. Maybe you could come in the summer to tour the city and check out a few places to see for yourself. Also it is pretty affordale to live in Minnesota compared to many states. You could easy find a place to own or rent that would work with your budget.
